I always like the variety of my job and recently had the pleasure to be invited to host Jo & Rob’s special day at Southsea Castle.
It was my first visit to this delightful venue which was made more special when it decided to be a beautiful hot summer’s day at the end of September. You can see from a few of the photos that the bridal couple had put their personal stamp on the day with a few clever ideas. You will also see it was my white wedding disco set up with my white speakers with just a little lighting which included some blue uplighters matching the wedding colour. Jo & Rob were big 60/70s soul fans and wanted me to personalise the wedding breakfast to their favourite genre of music. We also had talented magician Dean Nicholas working his way around the seated guests mesmerising them with his skills.
The speeches were highlighted by Jo’s dad, also called Jo, adding some great laughs with his joke telling. The first dance was an Andy Williams classic “ You’re just to be good to be true “ which soon had the family and friends joining in with the chorus.
I added some fun during the evening when I invited the bridegroom, best man and ushers to the dance floor for a fun dance routine which helped rack up the atmosphere. It was really enjoyable with a great mixture of music from the wedding song list from 60s soul to some 90s floor fillers. With a 12pm finish and my arrival at the venue at 10am and still the packing up and drive back to Bournemouth, it had been a long day. But very happy that Jo and Rob had enjoyed their day and I was honoured to be part of it. Wishing them all the best for the future and looking forward to catching up with the newly married couple on their return from honeymoon.
